My dog has only one working kidney. We feed him PVD NF. He has an allergy and is scratching constantly. We tried Hydroxyzine 50mg and also benadryl, but nothing works. We've had two vet visits. We're afraid to give him steroids because of his kidney and blood count problems. I feel the scratching is wearing him out. He is also overweight. Can you recommend a product to give him some relief? My dog is constantly scratching & gnawing on herself to the extent that in some areas her fur is gone. I see no visible rashes or blemishes on her skin & I've tried several diet changes to see if that would help. Any ideas? Could it be an allergy?

My mixed breed (chow,lab,st.bernard) has constant ear infections. I have been doing flushing ,salves & oral antibiotics. The ear infections keep coming back. I feel so sorry for him. My dog suffers from allergies and our local veterinarian has prescribed antihistamines, as needed. I also suffer from allergies and my doctor prescribes a decongestant along with my allergy medications, to prevent sinus infections. My question is this; can dogs take decongestants, and if so, which ones do you recommend? She is a 20 mo. old, spayed Newfoundland (mostly); wt.- appox. 95 lbs.
